Who Let the Cow Out?

I've been wanting to paint a cow for a while and I finally got the time.  I've seen on the internet some really crazy cow paintings, including a Youtube video of some guy painting one on Mars.  So it gave me an idea to paint my cow in a prominent area in our town and I thought near the lighthouse would be best.  Here's the process:

I know this is a very bad picture no matter how many lights I turned on, perhaps that was the problem.  The pencil I used was very light but if you squint really hard you can see the beginning of the cow face.

I like painting the sides too - just seems to add more character, perspective to the painting

and there she is.  My plan is to sell her in my booth at our local artisan mall but I really am tempted to keep her.

Have a great weekend!  Until next time,

I love the way that you wrapped the painting around the canvas... adds such a great element!

    1. I love cows too but I don't get much of a chance to see them like you! I did take it into the shop and i didn't even get a chance to hang it in my booth, it was sold almost as soon as I walked into the shop with it. Guess, I'll have to make another one :)

  4. Love this! My dad was in the dairy industry and raised cows, so I had to smile the second I saw this picture. Like the other ladies, I think that this will sell quickly, that is if you can part with her!

    1. That is so cool Paula, I didn't know that about your father. Well it sold before I could even get it hung up in my booth. The owner of the shop loved it so much she bought it on the spot. Guess I'll be making another one! :) Thanks for the encouragement :)
