Autumn Welcome

Yes sir! Autumn is welcome here at my home.  Can say that for our neighborhood, city and this part of Michigan.  The weather is so cool, literally and I'm loving it.  Trees have started to turn color :)

As I sat in my porch, I pulled out this tray trying to figure out how I can repurpose it with an Autumn theme.  Over the weekend, I gray washed it then cleared and dark waxed.

I found some faux Autumn leaves and a pumpkin chalkboard in my Autumn stash kinda knowing what I wanted to do.

I didn't want to permanently glue the leaves to the tray because I'd like to repurpose it for Christmas as well.  That's where the jute yarn comes in handy.  I tied everything together and then I tied it to the tray.

Voila!!  I hung it all together next to the front entrance to our house.

Welcome to our North Shore Bungalow :)

I love leaving the front door open.  The cool breeze goes through the house.  Rarely has there been a mosquito, sometimes a fly but nothing too annoying.

I bought these sunflowers and pumpkins at our local farmer's market over the weekend.  So much cheaper and fresher than at the grocery store across the street.

I also bought this Silver Moon pumpkin at the local farmer's market.  This is the first one I have ever owned and was told I could make pumpkin puree out of it but it's so beautiful, I'd hate to cut into it!

My neph-dog sits next to me as I craft away on my porch.  What a life, huh?

Have fun decorating for Autumn :)

Until next time,
Partying with:

  1. Hello,
Nice idea with the wood crate... looks very cute!

Lucky you!! Finding pumpkins. There isn't a pumpkin to be found here in our fair town.... not one.
Well, at least that is if I want to stay in one piece, and avoid buckshot in my pants...**giggle***!
There are some very pretty pumpkin patches that folks have growing..... I hope that some of them want to sell their bounty:)

It's nice that you can leave your door open like that.
I'm afraid that mice would come in here.... we have the meadow next to us.
Next year, I need to make/buy an old fashioned screen door. I've missed the ones we've had before, and it seems as though these newer houses just don't have screen doors.......

    1. There are no pumpkins in your area yet? That's unheard of. Will they be popping up soon in market?? I would send you a couple if I could! ;) You'll just have to grow your own next year. I'm sure you would do a great job and you won't have to go out and get riddled with buckshots!! ;) Oh my, I would never have my door open if mice came in, I don't blame you. I believe we do have an old time screen door for the front door but it's deep inside the garage where I can't get to it. We'll have to wait until late next Spring when my sister and her hubby get all their stuff moved out. Up here there are a lot of houses in the neighborhood that still use their old time screen door, it's very pretty especially when you see how beautiful the houses are. We live in an old Victorian town with a lot of beautiful Victorian style houses. I will take pictures of the area as soon as I can, was going to do it when we first got here but we were too busy getting settled. The whole town was decorated in Patriot colors and pride, like I've never seen before. Hopefully Christmas season will be just as gorgeous!!! Have a wonderful week!! :)

    1. Thank you Stacey. We just moved up here back in May from central Virginia. I'd had enough of those hot muggy days! My mind was blown away how much drier and cooler it is up here, we don't even have AC in our bungalow although, I won't lie, could've used it about three days out of the whole summer, but it wasn't anything compared to hot muggy VA.
